欧洲各国金属乐仍不受到世代转变而稍为停滞，反而更加丰富且旺盛蔓延打动至美国、日本等醉心摇滚文化之族群心中，以女声为主导的乐团，替这阳刚味浓的男性区块，恣意散发迷人且神秘的冷调情感，传达深远辽阔的嗓音诠释张力。完全不输Evanescence的Within Temptation，不仅轻易征服欧洲金属铁汉，更站上国际舞台，让全球更多乐迷体验她们的无穷魅力。
来自荷兰的Within Temptation(以下简称WT)，在原属The Circle吉他手Robert Westerholt离团后，邀请同团伙伴Jeroen van Veen(贝斯手)与Michael Papenhove(吉他手)另起炉灶，再加上Robert女友Sharon den Adel担任主唱，亲弟弟Martijn Westerholt负责键盘手一职与鼓手Dennis Leeflang等六人在1996年正式成军。虽顺利签入荷兰DSFA Records，却传出鼓手Dennis与其他团员不合退团换上Ivar de Graaf。1997-2004年陆续问世《Enter》、《Mother Earth》、《The Silent Force》等三张卖座专辑，吸引金属大厂Roadrunner Records赏识，签下美国发行权。首度登上英国金榜Top38位置的大碟《The Heart Of Everything》，於2007年一连抱走MTV欧洲音乐「最佳荷兰与比利时乐团」、世界音乐「最佳荷兰销售艺人」等重要奖项。

This concert was filmed with 14 high definition cameras at Rotterdam's Ahoy on February 7, 2008.
Undoubtedly Within Temptation are absolute masters of this genre; Goth rock, Symphonic rock,
Symphonic metal, pop metal, whatever you want to call it.
This show accentuates their particular style, with 'Frozen', 'Deceiver of Fools' and 'All I Need'
specifically benefitting from the Metropole Orchestra.
While WT are an outstanding rock band, i actually think they are better at the softer ballads.
There's an awesome sit down accoustic section in the middle of the show, 'Forgiven', 'Somewhere'
'The Swan Song' and 'Memories'.
'All I Need' could easily have been tagged onto the end of this section to bring the show back to
the rock level though they do this admirably with 'Our Solemn Hour' and 'The Other Half (Of Me)'.
The band looked genuinely happy to be in Ahoy Rotterdam and welcomed the fans input, which they
duly gave singing along and throwing gifts onstage!
You can see in the eyes of those on the front row it was a fantastic concert, probably fairer to
call it an experience of a lifetime.
