《夢劇場》（Dream Theater）是一個成立於美國波士頓的前衛金屬樂團，由幾位「Berklee音樂學院」的在學學生在1985年組成(Majesty，夢劇場樂團的前身)。經過了二十多年，他們已經成為1970年代前衛搖滾高峰期後在商業上表現最成功的前衛樂團之一，堪稱是90年代以來最重要也最具代表性與影響力的前衛金屬樂團，其92年所發表的專輯《Images and Words》，為當時的金屬樂開創出新的表現形式，專輯中高層次的技術展現，使得團員紛紛成為各方注目的焦點，也使得這張專輯順理成章地成為前衛金屬史上的經典代表作。
